Greater Certainty and Choice at Victorian Elections

Thanks to changes to the Electoral Legislation Act passed in the Victorian Parliament yesterday, voters who are blind or have low vision will now have greater electronic voting choices and certainty.

The changes to the Act allow for the possibility of electronic voting options such as telephone or computer-voting to be offered at all Victorian elections, including in the upcoming state election on November 24.

The University of Guelph does not have mandatory mental health training for faculty and staff, but instead relies on an optional “training framework” for professors and staff to learn how to support students with mental health issues.

St. Thomas resident, Lisa Kelly, has been named as one of eight members of an advisory committee of a project aimed at identifying accessibility challenges experienced by business improvement areas and their business members.


Breaking Down Barriers at the Heritage Railway and Carousel Company

The North Bay Heritage Railway and Carousel Company now has a wheelchair accessible train coach.

It was officially launched Sunday, much to the delight of residents who have been waiting years to ride the miniature train at the North Bay waterfront, but were unable to because of their wheelchair.

The train has been modified to accommodate two wheelchairs at a time.
