Gus Reed says the government isn’t doing enough to follow its own accessibility rules.

Gus Reed got tired of waiting.

Reed was part of a group successful in a human rights challenge against the Nova Scotia government, arguing he and other wheelchair users could not wash their hands in many restaurants where accessible washrooms are not available. A board of inquiry found the government was not enforcing its own accessibility regulations.

A library in Winnipeg’s North End reopened Friday following two years of upgrades that helped to enhance the building’s accessibility.

The St. John’s Library, which originally opened on June 2, 1915, now has an accessible entrance and washroom, as well as a lift.

Indwell is the largest affordable housing developer in South Western Ontario. They’ve provided affordable housing in communities such as Hamilton, Woodstock and Oxford county.
