Helping you Work with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

Over the next few weeks, we will be posting a series of articles that takes an in-depth look at the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). These articles will highlight how the AODA applies to you and your workplace.

We will begin by taking a look at the Act itself. Then, we will examine how the Act came to be, the purpose of the Act, and the various milestones of compliance dates that organizations must abide by. We will also consider the accessibility goals for Ontario, how the Act is extended by the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulations (IASR), and why Ontario needs AODA.
